Pittsburgh Pirates vs Milwaukee Brewers Prediction, Odds and Picks for Today, 06/25/25

We have a fantastic pitching matchup taking center stage on Wednesday afternoon as the Pittsburgh Pirates face the Milwaukee Brewers. These NL Central rivals have split the first two games in the series, and now they send their young phenom arms to the mound in Paul Skenes and Jacob Misiorowski. The books are daring us to play the under in this game, and usually when lines go to extremes, there is a reason. I am going to sweat out the under in this one, even at a scary 6.5 runs.

You probably know about what I call the “Skenes Treatment”. That’s when the starter can spin off 7 or 8 innings of scoreless or near-scoreless baseball, and then lose because his team refuses to score. Yamamoto and MacKenzie Gore are two other guys suffering the Skenes Treatment this season, much like deGrom with the Mets back in the day. But one thing is for almost-certain: Skenes is very unlikely to give up many runs. As for Misiorowski, his is only 2 starts into his career, but if you watch this guy pitch, it is violent, hard velo with tons of movement. He is not a fun at-bat for anyone, and the Pirates aren’t great with the lumber in the first place. Both bullpens kind of stink, so there is a chance this one gets away from us in the late innings, but both guys could very well get through 6 or more innings with no damage.
