San Diego Padres vs Chicago White Sox Prediction, Odds and Picks for Today, 09/20/25

The Padres are likely headed to the postseason, but catching the Dodgers in the NL West is growing slim. San Diego has dropped three of its last four, including a disappointing loss to the White Sox last night, and they’ll need to turn things around quickly with their being only eight games left in the regular season.

These are the types of games the Padres need to take advantage of, and today, they’ll send Yu Darvish to the mound who enters with a 4-5 record and a 5.63 ERA. Darvish managed to pick up a win in his last start against the Rockies, but he still allowed three earned runs in five innings pitched. For the White Sox, Yoendrys Gomez will get the nod, entering with a 3-2 record and a 4.91 ERA. Offensively, the Padres have a slight advantage in this matchup, averaging 4.1 runs per game in their last 10 compared to the White Sox 3.1. This is a big spot for Darvish and the Padres, and it’s a must win for San Diego. Look for the Padres to come out swinging and support Darvish in a big way, making them my best bet of the day.
