The series finale of the San Diego Padres vs Washington Nationals is on Sunday afternoon. These teams have split the series, and the Nationals took the Saturday game, 4-2. The Padres are in the thick of a playoff race, while the Nats are getting lots of reps for their talented young core. With two dominant pitchers on the mound on Sunday, I am looking for lots of strikeouts and a low score. My Padres vs Nationals pick is the game total under 8.

Nick Pivetta and MacKenzie Gore faced off against each other just a couple weeks ago, a game that the Padres won, 1-0. As usual, the Nats gave Gore the Skenes treatment, wasting an excellent start from their ace by refusing to score. Both guys have been tremendous all year though, and there is no reason to think they would lose their rhythm during the all-star break. The biggest threat to the under in this game is the Washington bullpen, but if we can keep them from making a mess of things late, this game should see limited scoring. Give me the under on Sunday with two great pitchers going.
