Seattle Mariners vs Los Angeles Angels Prediction, Odds and Picks for Today, 04/03/26

The Seattle Mariners and Los Angeles Angels kick off a weekend series on Friday night. The Mariners have not looked great to start the season, splitting a 4-game set with the Guardians before dropping 2 of 3 to the Yankees. The offense, in particular, has been the struggle. The Angels opened the season with 2 big wins over the Astros, but they have dropped 4 of 5 since then. This is a series where the Mariners need to get themselves going, and I am looking for a Seattle win on Friday night.

The pitching matchup is Bryan Woo vs Reid Detmers. Woo was great in his first start, just giving up a couple of runs on mostly weak contact. Detmers showed some flash, but gave up damage, which is typical of a guy like him with a power arm that doesn’t always know where the ball is going. Both bullpens have been sensational so far; that is expected from Seattle, but a bit surprising from LA. Tonight, I don’t expect Woo to give up much damage, as usual, and the Seattle bullpen should lock it down from there. Detmers will make a couple of mistakes, enough to give Seattle a chance to get ahead. We pay a little juice here, but I think Seattle is the right play.
