Mariners vs Twins Pickswise Expert Predictions
The Seattle Mariners head to the Twin Cities to take on the Minnesota Twins on Monday. Baseball is such a game of momentum, and these 2 teams are heading in opposite directions. The Mariners won 2 of 3 in Chicago over the weekend in absolute launching pad conditions, as it was over 90 degrees with strong winds blowing out of Wrigley all weekend. Cal Raleigh and the rest of the gang blasted tons of long balls and are feeling great at the plate. Meanwhile, the Twins were swept in Milwaukee, stretching their losing streak to 9 of their last 10. I’ll happily play the momentum on Monday and take the Mariners on the money line.
On the mound, both starters have struggled of late. Bailey Ober has been knocked around in 4 straight starts, including a game against the Mariners where he did not get through the 5th inning. Bryan Woo still has great numbers on the season, but 2 of his last 3 starts have seen him give up 4 or 5 runs. Even in those starts, though, he still shows the pitch efficiency he is known for, and he is just one of those guys I have come to feel comfortable with most days. His floor is usually solid enough to give us a chance, and he is usually far better than most. Give me Woo, Raleigh and the rest of the Mariners to get it done on Monday.
