Both the Seattle Mariners and New York Mets find themselves in a tight-knit race for a wild-card spot, and although there is plenty of baseball left to be played, every game matters at this point in the season. Seattle is dishing out George Kirby (3.71 ERA, 1.07 WHIP), while the Mets will have Clay Holmes (3.71 ERA, 1.35 WHIP) on the bump. While Kirby has been in slightly better form as of late compared to Holmes, the Mets’ offense has been a force to be wrecked with against right-handed pitchers.

The Mets rank top-5 in wRC+, wOBA and slugging percentage when facing righties this season, and also rank top 10 in each of those categories over the last 14 days, as well. With slight wind blowing directly out to center field from home plate, the conditions play in favor of the offenses rather than pitching staff. With that being said, I’ll rely on the New York offense in this spot and take the Mets to get the win outright at a plus-money price.
