Seattle Mariners vs Toronto Blue Jays Prediction, Odds and Picks for Today, 10/19/25

This is Game 6 of the American League Championship Series between the Seattle Mariners and the Toronto Blue Jays. The Mariners are one win away from a trip to the World Series. That puts all the pressure tonight on the Blue Jays to defend their home turf. On the mound, we will see Logan Gilbert of the Mariners and Trey Yesavage of the Blue Jays. Gilbert has been great since the start of September, giving up 2 or fewer runs in all 8 starts. Additionally, he has given up 5 or fewer runs in 7 of those starts. While his previous start this series was not great (3IP, 5H, 3ER), his track record shows a bounce-back in this one. Even in that start, the Mariners won Game 2 by a score of 10-3. This was thanks to 3 multi-run home runs by the Mariners lineup. The Mariners bats came alive again in Game 5 where they hit 3 more home runs that accounted for all 6 runs. While I think Toronto hits the ball well, I have a feeling Gilbert’s pitching will also rise to the occasion.

For the Blue Jays, Yesavage will take the mound. Yesavage has been impressive this season with a 3.21 ERA. The issue is that he faced the Mariners in his last start where he gave up 5 earned runs in just 4 innings. Making matters worse, the Mariners bat significantly better away from home in the playoffs posting 24 runs in just 4 total games. With this information, I have to give the starting pitcher edge to the Mariners. If we take a deeper look at the previous games of the series, 4 games were decided by bullpen play. With that being said, the Blue Jays bullpen has a 6.57 ERA in the playoffs and has given up 11 runs in their 3 losses to the Mariners. On the year, the Mariners bullpen has been better and has shown that in this series. Overall, I give a significant pitching advantage across the board to the Mariners. I am taking the Mariners to get the win and head to the World Series.
