St. Louis Cardinals vs Baltimore Orioles Prediction, Odds and Picks for Monday, 05/26/25

The St. Louis Cardinals and Baltimore Orioles get ready to take the field on Memorial Day with the Cardinals hoping to keep things rolling against a struggling Baltimore team. The Orioles are not living up to their pre-season hype as they average just 3.8 runs per game, but it’s not their hitting that’s the biggest issue, it’s their pitching. The Orioles have the second worst ERA in all of baseball sitting at 5.52. Baltimore will be sending Charlie Mortin to the mound to kick start this series, and the Orioles are hoping he can put in some innings to limit the use of their bullpen.

Morton is winless this season as he’s 0-7 with a 7.68 ERA. Morton was able to limit the number of runs in his last start against the Nationals, allowing just one, but he managed to go only 4.1 innings. Erick Fedde will get the start for the Cardinals who is 3-3 with a 3.77 ERA. Fedde struggled against Detroit giving up 4 earned runs, but in his last 3 games, he’s 1-0 with a 1.83 ERA. Over the last 15 days, the Cardinals are one of the hotter hitting teams, averaging 5.1 runs per game with a .717 OPS. For the Orioles, they’re not too far behind with 4.3 runs per game and a .710 OPS. The biggest concern for me is Baltimore’s pitching, and having a bullpen ERA of 5.46, I can’t trust them. Charlie Morton has yet to win a game this season, and I expect that streak to continue as he gets ready to face a strong Cardinals team.
