St. Louis Cardinals vs Chicago Cubs Prediction, Odds and Picks for Today, 09/27/25
Cardinals vs Cubs Pickswise Expert Predictions
The Chicago Cubs are one win away from clinching the top seed in the NL Wild Card as they get ready to take on the St. Louis Cardinals this afternoon. The Cubs have dropped six of their last eight games, but they’ll look to build some momentum in this series before the postseason kicks off next week.
Taking the mound for Chicago will be Jameson Taillon who enters with a 10-7 record and a 3.78 ERA. For the Cardinals, Michael McGreevy will get the nod, entering with a 8-3 record and a 4.35 ERA. Taillon is the better pitcher in this matchup, and in his last five starts, he’s 3-1 with 1.59 ERA compared to McGreevy who’s 3-1 with a 4.18 ERA in that same span. Offensively, the Cubs have the edge, averaging 5.3 runs per game in their last 10 games compared to the Cardinals 4.4. The last thing the Cubs want is to go into the postseason ice cold and there’s no reason why they’ll try to take it easy against St. Louis today. Look for the Cubs to roll in this one, making them my best bet of the day.
