Cardinals vs Brewers Pickswise Expert Predictions
The Milwaukee Brewers secured a playoff berth with a miraculous 9-8 comeback win over the Cardinals last night. The Brewers are the first team to clinch a playoff spot this season, but their job isn’t finished just yet. Milwaukee is still looking to secure a NL Central title – and with only 13 games left, these are the types of games they need to win.
Taking the mound for the Cardinals will be Miles Mikolas who enters with a 7-10 record and a 4.84 ERA. For the Brewers, Jose Quintana will get the nod, entering with a 11-6 record and a 3.88 ERA. Quintana has struggled for the Brewers over his last couple of starts, posting a 1-2 record with a 7.56 ERA in his last three starts. Offensively, the Brewers have the advantage, averaging 4.9 runs per game in their last 10 compared to the Cardinals 3.3. As I do believe the Brewers have the advantage in this matchup, it’s hard to trust Quintana given his recent struggles. With both games in this series going over, I expect even more runs in this one. I expect Quintana to give up a few runs early on in this one and for the Brewers to score a few against Mikolas. Look for both teams to find success in this matchup, making the over my best bet of the day.
