St. Louis Cardinals vs Pittsburgh Pirates Prediction, Odds and Picks for Monday, 06/30/25

The Pirates enter the new week coming off a sweep of the Mets. Pittsburgh’s offense exploded for 30 total runs in the 3-game set, but can they keep it up on Monday against the visiting Cardinals? Pittsburgh will face St. Louis right-hander Erick Fedde, who has been solid in June. He struggled in his last outing against the Cubs, but generally speaking, Chicago’s offense presents a much tougher matchup than Pittsburgh’s. Despite their big offensive weekend, the Pirates still rank 27th in baseball in total runs and 29th in OPS. Fedde faced the Pirates back on April 9, and he tossed 6 innings of shutout baseball and didn’t allow a hit. That should give him plenty of confidence going into this one.

The Cardinals are also coming off a sweep, as they took care of business against the Guardians over the weekend. St. Louis outscored Cleveland 21-6 in the series, and they’ve now won 10 of their last 13 games going back to June 17. Oliver Marmol’s squad is in a groove right now, and they’ve won 4 of their 6 matchups against the Pirates this season. All in all, the Cardinals are a bit more trustworthy than the Pirates right now, so I’m backing St. Louis on the road.
