Tampa Bay Rays vs Chicago Cubs Prediction, Odds and Picks for Today, 09/13/25

The Chicago Cubs picked up a 6-4 victory in game one of this three-game set against the Rays, and on Saturday, they’ll look to keep things rolling as they try to close the gap in the NL Central. Taking the mound for the Rays will be Drew Rasmussen, who enters with a 10-5 record and a 2.64 ERA. Rasmussen has been solid this season, though he typically doesn’t pitch deep into games. That shouldn’t pose too much of an issue for Tampa Bay as their bullpen owns a 3.71 ERA on the year.

For the Cubs, Colin Rea will get the nod, entering with a 10-6 record and a 4.20 ERA. Rea has had his ups and down this season, however, he hasn’t been particularly sharp as of late. In his last three starts, he’s 0-1 with a 6.43 ERA. The Cubs have been the better team all season, but I like Rasmussen here. Rasmussen should be able to keep his team in it, and Rea will most likely give up a few big hits to this Rays offense early on. Look for Tampa Bay to steal one on the road, making them my best bet of the day.
