Tampa Bay Rays vs Chicago White Sox Prediction, Odds and Picks for Today, 09/09/25

After a tough series against the Guardians, the Tampa Bay Rays will look to bounce back tonight as they open a three-game series against the Chicago White Sox. With just 19 games left for the Rays this season, they sit just 4.5 games back in the AL Wild Card standings, and this is a series the Rays can’t afford to let slip away. 

Taking the mound for the Rays will be Adrian Houser, who enters with a 8-4 record and a 3.01 ERA this season. For the White Sox, Yoendrys Gomez will get the nod, entering with a 3-2 record and a 4.79 ERA. Offensively, the Rays are averaging just 4.8 runs per game compared to the White Sox 5.4 runs per game. The White Sox have now won seven of their last eight games, and they’re playing like a team that’s competing for a playoff spot. Both starting pitchers have had their ups and downs this season, but I think the Rays offense will rebound in this one and will find a way to get it done in this series opener.
