Game Totals Pick
Over 7.5(-105)

The Tampa Bay Rays will take on the St. Louis Cardinals Saturday afternoon. The Cardinals won the first game between these 2 by a score of 9-7 thanks to an 8-run rally in the 6th inning. The hitting in the first game was incredible, with both teams combining for 31 hits. On the mound today, the Rays will start Joe Boyle. Boyle had a difficult season last year with a 1-4 record and a 4.67 ERA. In his one game against the Cardinals, he gave up 9 hits and 5 earned runs through 4 innings pitched. He will look to do better today but that may be difficult with how well both teams hit in game 1.

For the Cardinals, they will start Michael McGreevy. McGreevy had an 8-4 record last season with a 4.42 ERA. The issue for McGreevy last season was that he had a WHIP of 1.25. Giving up at least 1 hit per inning can add some pressure to your pitching. Looking at last season, the Rays hit the ball better, but the Cardinals struck out less. Overall, I suspect we may see another high scoring affair between 2 pitchers that struggle to keep guys off the bases. I am rolling with the over in this one.

Rays vs. Cardinals Prediction: Over 7.5 (-105) available at the time of publishing. Playable at that number
