Texas Rangers vs Kansas City Royals Prediction, Odds and Picks for Today, 08/19/25

The Rangers will hand the ball to Merrill Kelly in hopes of ending Kansas City’s 4-game win streak. Kelly could have the edge on the mound going up against Kansas City’s Seth Lugo. Lugo’s overall numbers are fine, but August has not been kind to the veteran right-hander. He has allowed 15 earned runs on 19 hits through 12.2 innings so far this month, which evens out to a 10.66 ERA and .345 BAA. Kelly hasn’t been elite since coming to Texas, but he could be in line for a solid day against Kansas City’s lineup.

The Royals have hit the fewest home runs in the American League this season. They don’t possess a ton of power, which in turn, has led to inconsistent offensive production. They’ve been a little better in August, but it’s still difficult to trust them on a night-to-night basis. After dropping the series-opener last night, consider backing the Rangers in this Tuesday night matchup.
