Rangers vs Dodgers Pickswise Expert Predictions

Run Line Pick
LA Dodgers -1.5(-115)

Coming off a series sweep against the Mariners, the Texas Rangers will look to keep things rolling as they take on the Dodgers, who hold the best record in baseball to start the season. Offensively, this is a tough matchup for Texas. The Rangers rank 12th in batting average (.234) and average 3.7 runs per game. For Los Angeles, they lead the league in batting average (.287) and lead in runs per game (6.3). Keeping pace with this Dodgers lineup will be a major challenge, meaning the Rangers will need a strong outing on the mound to keep this game close.

Taking the mound for the Rangers will be Kumar Rocker who is 0-1 with a 3.60 ERA through one start this season. For the Dodgers, they’ll send Tyler Glasnow to the mound who is 1-0 with a 3.00 ERA through two starts. Glasnow has dominated the Rangers in his career, going 3-0 with a 0.38 ERA in four starts. It’s unlikely the Rangers will generate much offense against Glasnow, but they may not find that much success against the Dodgers bullpen, either, that holds a 3.21 ERA this season. As for the Rangers, they have the second-best bullpen in all of baseball holding a 1.55 ERA, which could keep things close if Rocker can limit damage early on. However, that’s a big “if”, going up against one of the most explosive offenses in the majors and a pitcher who has historically dominated the Rangers. I feel like this is a tough spot for the Rangers, even though they haven’t been blown out too many times this season. With Glasnow on the mound and the Dodgers’ offense rolling, I’m expecting them to take care of business at Dodgers Stadium tonight.

Rangers vs Dodgers prediction: Dodgers -1.5  (-115) available at time of publishing. Playable at that number.
