Rangers vs Phillies Pickswise Expert Predictions

Game Totals Pick
Under 7.5(-125)

It was an abysmal year for Philadelphia Phillies starter Aaron Nola in 2025. He posted a 6.01 ERA in just 17 starts, but there were many reasons to believe it was just a blip on the radar and that he would be back to his old self in 2026. Spring Training went well for Nola, but his performance at the World Baseball Classic (one earned run over nine innings) shows that he still has what it takes to compete with the world’s best. While stretching out their arms for the WBC hasn’t worked out for some pitchers around the league in the season’s first few days, it should do a world of good for Nola’s confidence heading into this season.

Jacob deGrom was back to his old, consistent self in 2025 after injuries robbed him of a good portion of his career from 2020 to 2024. Despite the Rangers not being a great team and owning just a 12-8 record, deGrom posted a 2.97 ERA and was one of the few bright spots on the roster. The right-hander doesn’t have a ton of great years left in him, but getting to face a team he saw a lot during his time with the New York Mets for one more start at Citizens Bank Park is something deGrom won’t take lightly.

The teams combined for eight runs in the first meeting of the season, which the Phillies won 5-3, but the Rangers’ offense was non-existent until a three-run outburst in the ninth. With these two pitchers on the mound in good form and at full health, the offenses could struggle again in this one.

Rangers vs Phillies prediction: Under 7.5 (-125) available at time of publishing. Playable at that number.
