Blue Jays vs White Sox Pickswise Expert Predictions

Game Totals Pick
Over 8.5(-105)

On Saturday afternoon, we’ll get the rare double-opener game, where both the Toronto Blue Jays and Chicago White Sox will deploy the bullpen to get the job over 9+ innings. One issue with that strategy is that the first game of this series went into extra innings, which further stretched the teams’ bullpens. However, with the Blue Jays’ rotation injury issues and Chicago’s rotation as a whole struggling, the managers feel this is their best move.

The Blue Jays’ offense hasn’t been as good as they expected going into the season, but the good news is that a similar start happened in 2025, when their offense got hot down the stretch and made a clutch run to Game 7 of the World Series. The talent is there for a breakout, and it could happen on Saturday afternoon in a game where the White Sox might be in for a slight letdown after their Friday walk-off.

The bad news for both teams is that they have two of the worst bullpens in the entire league. The Jays’ combined ERA is 5.46, while the White Sox have an abysmal 7.53. Both of these marks are in the bottom six in the majors. The offenses might not be firing on all cylinders, but this is a great game for both teams to get some licks in against floundering bullpens, and the 8.5 number seems much too low under these circumstances.

Blue Jays vs White Sox prediction: Over 8.5 (-105) available at time of publishing. Playable at that number.
