Toronto Blue Jays vs Los Angeles Dodgers Prediction, Odds and World Series Game 5 Picks for Today, 10/29/25

This will be Game 5 of the World Series between the Toronto Blue Jays and the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Series is currently tied 2-2 with the Blue Jays holding the Dodgers to just 1 run last night. On the mound today, we will have a pitching rematch of game 1 between Trey Yesavage of the Blue Jays and Blake Snell of the Dodgers. In Game 1, Yesavage pitched well giving up just 4 hits and 2 runs through 4 innings pitched. While numbers like this are normal for Yesavage, he has only pitched in 7 games this season. This small sample size makes it difficult to predict what he will do in a second appearance against a hard-hitting Dodgers lineup. With that being said, the Dodgers are batting .259 at home throughout the playoffs with a total of 38 runs in just 8 games. Additionally, Yesavage has walked 3 batters per game through his last 3 starts, and I worry that this lack of control could be problematic today.

For the Dodgers, Snell will take the mound. Snell struggled in Game 1 of this series where he pitched 5 innings but gave up 8 hits and 5 runs. This was a shocking start for Snell as he has been incredible all season. Outside of that start, he has pitched 21 innings in the playoffs giving up just 6 hits and 2 earned runs. I have a feeling he will view this as a redemption game and perform like we expect him to. Outside of the starters, both of these bullpens have looked much better in the last 2 games. With both bullpens pitching well, it means the difference may come from the starters. I am going to have to roll with Snell over Yesavage, especially since the Dodgers are 52-29 at home this season. I am rolling with the Dodgers to take a lead in the series before heading back to Toronto.
