Toronto Blue Jays vs Miami Marlins Prediction, Odds and Picks for Today, 08/22/25
Blue Jays vs Marlins Pickswise Expert Predictions
After a tough series against the Pirates, the Toronto Blue Jays will look to bounce back as they open a 3-game series against the Miami Marlins. Toronto’s offense has cooled off slightly, averaging 5.7 runs per game over their last 6. As for the Marlins, they’re averaging just 4 runs in that same span. Tonight, Shane Bieber will be taking the mound for the first time since April 2024 as he’s been sidelined due to Tommy John surgery.
For the Marlins, Ryan Gusto is expected to get the start, entering with a 7-5 record and 4.89 ERA. Gusto has had his ups and downs this season, and in his last start, he gave up three earned runs and struck out eight in six innings pitched. It’s hard to gauge if Bieber will be back to his normal self when taking the mound. In the 2 starts he made last year, he pitched 12 scoreless innings and recorded 20 strikeouts. Bieber’s innings will most likely be limited, and at the end of the day, this Blue Jays team is hitting better than the Marlins and should have no issues getting to Gusto early on. Look for Toronto to roll, making them my best bet of the day.
