The Yankees find themselves on the brink of elimination heading into Game 3 of the ALDS. Toronto has outscored New York 23-8 through the first 2 games, and if the Yankees want any chance of extending the series they need Carlos Rodon to be at his best. This season Rodon went 18-9 with a 3.09 ERA. However, this will be his third time facing the Blue Jays this year after going 0-1 with a 3.60 ERA head-to-head so far.

For the Blue Jays, Shane Bieber will get the nod and he comes in with a 4-2 record and a 3.57 ERA through 7 starts. Bieber hasn’t faced the Yankees this season, but in his career he is 2-1 with a 4.11 ERA against New York. Both pitchers have pitched well, but the biggest question is whether the Yankees can finally slow down they Jays’ offense. No matter who has been on the mound, the Blue Jays have found ways to score. Still, I like Rodon in this matchup — he has done a solid job of limiting Toronto’s damage in 2025. Look for the Yankees bats to get to Bieber early and pick up a much-needed win to keep their season alive.
