Toronto Blue Jays vs Tampa Bay Rays Prediction, Odds and Picks for Today, 09/16/25

The Toronto Blue Jays managed to come from behind once again against the Tampa Bay Rays last night to pick up a 2-1 victory. The Blue Jays have now won five in a row and are inching closer to their first AL East Title since 2015. Taking the mound for Toronto will be Jose Berrios, who enters with a 9-5 record and a 3.99 ERA. For the Rays, Ryan Pepiot will get the start, entering with a 11-10 record and a 3.59 ERA. Pepiot is 3-0 in his last three starts with a 0.00 ERA. 

Last night’s performance is a prime example as to why the Rays will fall short of a playoff berth for a second straight season. Despite being 8.5 games back in the AL Wild Card, the Rays will love nothing more than spoiling their division rivals’ chance at winning an AL East title. However, if the Rays want to spoil the Blue Jays hopes at winning a title, they’ll need to get something going on offense. In their last 10 games, they’re averaging just 2.8 runs per game. Despite their offensive struggles, I like the way Pepiot has been pitching. Pepiot should be able to put his team in a great position to steal a win and even this series.
