Nationals vs Brewers Pickswise Expert Predictions

Game Totals Pick
Over 8.0(-110)

The Washington Nationals and Milwaukee Brewers open a series on Friday in Milwaukee. The Brewers dropped 2 of 3 to the Red Sox earlier this week to cool off a red hot start to the season. The Nats won their opening series vs the Cubs, but they have since lost the series to the Phillies, Dodgers and Cardinals in turn. The Nationals have some young and exciting bats, but it is the pitching that has been a struggle so far this season. I am going to lean into that on Friday as I look for a higher scoring game. Give me the game total over 8 runs.

The starters are Chad Patrick for Milwaukee and Jake Irvin for the Nationals. Irvin is not very good, and he has already been knocked around some this season. The Brewers are an efficient offense, and the middle of their order should hit Irvin effectively. Plus, there is the Washington bullpen, which is already among the worst in the league. On the other side, I like the Washington offense, especially with the number of lefty bats they can stack up. Patrick is not nearly as effective facing lefties, and that should lead to some runs. Either team, and hopefully both, can put up numbers Friday.
