All eyes are on Madison Square Garden this Tuesday as the New York Knicks get their championship rings and raise their banner to the rafters for the first time in 53 years. Jalen Brunsen and co. won’t have it easy in their first game though, as they take on LeBron James and the new look Philadelphia 76ers.

Tip-off is set for 7 pm ET on NBC, I’ve prepared a tasty +375 odds Same Game Parlay featuring two player prop bets as well as a point total bet. The buzz around the new NBA season is real, we have two other games being played on Tuesday and I’d encourage you to visit our NBA Picks page for predictions on those games as well. Let’s dive into my Same Game Parlay bet for 76ers vs Knicks now!

Philadelphia 76ers +5.5 Point Spread (-115)

Jaylen Brown 2+ Made Threes (+102)

Karl-Anthony Towns to Record a Double-double (-235)

Same Game Parlay odds: +336

Philadelphia 76ers +5.5 Point Spread (-115)

The 76ers will look to spoil the party on Tuesday with their new look squad. Despite having two new starters, I expect Philly to play with an extra edge on opening night as they face the team that swept them in the East semi-finals last year. Although they went 1-3 SU during the preseason, the Sixers did beat the Knicks by 23 points in early October for what it’s worth. This team is a work in progress and will be one for a while until their newly acquired stars settle in. I am looking at Joel Embiid in particular to excel here, as he faces a Knicks team without Mitchell Robinson manning the middle.

New York’s offseason wasn’t the best – apart from losing Mitchell Robinson, they also failed to agree to a new contract with Karl-Anthony Towns which could linger over the team’s head for the remainder of the season. The Knicks shot the three-ball at just 25.3% during the preseason, we all know how big the deep ball was during their postseason run. Josh Hart also sat out the final game of preseason with an ankle issue, that’s not the news you want to hear ahead of a game against a player like Tyrese Maxey. The Sixers are out to prove themselves here, I feel like the Knicks will have a hard time dealing with Embiid down low. This could be a close one, so it makes way more sense to back the 76ers plus the points.

Jaylen Brown 2+ Made Threes (+102)

In life you only get one chance to leave a good first impression, that’s exactly how I feel about Jaylen Brown’s regular season debut in a Sixers uniform on Tuesday. A lot is expected from Brown after he made his big time move from the Celtics this offseason, many people see him as the missing piece to the 76ers championship puzzle. Last year he finished 6th in regular season MVP voting and was part of the All-NBA 2nd team. His three-ball shooting played a major factor in the year he had – Brown shot his usual 34% from downtown on a really solid 2 threes made per game. In 71 games played he cleared this line 42 times, for a success rate of 59%. The Knicks three-point defense was mediocre at best during the regular season, they allowed opponents to shoot 35.3% from the perimeter, while at MSG that percentage went up to 36.3%. Although Brown’s most recent match-up with the Knicks saw him go 0-for-4 from downtown, prior to that he had a streak of 7 consecutive games clearing this line. I’m hoping he can re-gain some of that shooting touch and contribute to his team’s success on opening night with a pair of deep bombs.

Karl-Anthony Towns to Record a Double-double (-235)

The never-ending saga of Karl-Anthony Towns and his new contract continues to linger over the New York Knicks, as they get ready to defend their title. Being the pro that he is, I doubt all of this will have an issue on KAT’s game on the court, in fact his role on this roster might even be greater than it was during the championship run last season. The departure of Mitchell Robinson has left a big hole on the interior; New York will have to rely on someone else to cover for his defense and rebounding. Towns is that guy, he actually started at center in 4 of the 5 preseason games for New York and I expect that to continue moving forward as they look to find a permanent solution for that position. In theory that should mean more rebounding for KAT, last season he averaged 20.1 ppg and 11.9 rpg. As far as double-doubles go, he had 56 of them in 75 regular season games played which is a really solid success rate of 74.7% on this bet. Battling Embiid down low will be a tall task, but the last 9 regular season meetings have seen Towns average 21.6 points and 10.1 rebounds per game. I’m counting on KAT to deliver on both ends here.
