Nuggets vs Warriors Pickswise Expert Predictions
The Denver Nuggets open their season on the road against a Golden State Warriors team that they beat in the season series last season. The visitors have, however, made major changes to their roster in the offseason and should be a much harder team to stop. Cameron Johnson is a perfect replacement for Michael Porter Jr. because he is a 39.2% career shooter from deep. Bruce Brown is also back on the Nuggets and gives them a strong perimeter defender and a cutter to the rim with whom Nikola Jokic already has great chemistry with. With Christian Braun still on the roster the roster, him and Brown should be more than capable of keeping up with Stephen Curry off the ball and disrupting him.
The main issue the Warriors will have in this game is dealing with the size of the Nuggets. Draymond Green started at center in their last game against the Los Angeles Lakers but this should prove to be a far more difficult opponent for him. Even off the bench, the Nuggets now have Jonas Valanciunas. The Lithuanian finished last season 4th among players in rebounding percentage. Expect the Nuggets to dominate the glass for 48 minutes tonight. With Braun being the leader last season in fast break points per game and the improved spacing around Jokic, the Nuggets offense should prove too difficult for the Warriors to keep pace with.
Nuggets vs Warriors prediction: Nuggets ML (+105) at the time of publishing. Playable to +100.
