Point Spread Pick
DEN Nuggets -8.5(-110)

The Denver Nuggets and the Sacramento Kings will go head-to-head tonight on NBC. The Nuggets have a record of 7-2, but this will only be their fourth road game this season. They have only won one of their first three road games. The Nuggets have won four straight games, including a 117-100 win on Saturday against the Indiana Pacers. Nikola Jokic led the Nuggets with 32 points, 14 rebounds, and 14 assists, and Denver was able to handily defeat a shorthanded Pacers team. The Kings have a record of 3-7 and a home record of 2-3. Sacramento has lost three of their last four games, and they lost their last game 144-117 on Sunday against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Zach LaVine led the team in scoring with 26 points, and DeMar DeRozan and Domantas Sabonis both contributed over 20 points. The Kings will need a better defensive effort tonight against a Nuggets team that averages 124.2 points per game.

These two teams have already played each other once this season. The Nuggets were able to get a 130-124 win on their home floor back on November 3rd. Both teams lit up the scoreboard, shooting over 50% from the field. Former Denver Nugget, Russell Westbrook kept the Kings in that game with 26 points. Right now, it is difficult to pick against the Denver Nuggets. They are arguably playing the best basketball out of any team in the NBA to start the season, fueled by another historic start for Nikola Jokic. Jokic currently leads the NBA in assists with 11.9 per game. It’s still early this season, but if that stat holds for the whole season, he would be the first center in the NBA to lead the league in assists since Wilt Chamberlain in 1968. Jokic can expect Jamal Murray and Aaron Gordon to return fully healthy tonight after they both rested last game against Indiana. The Kings may be without their big, Domantas Sabonis, who played through a rib contusion injury against Minnesota. Sabonis said after the game that each breath caused a sharp pain in his chest during his time on the floor. The injury obviously affected him as he only shot 5 of 17 from the floor. If Sabonis plays tonight, it could be a miserable night for him against a bruising and physical Jokic. I like for the Nuggets to continue their winning streak tonight.

Nuggets -8.5 is available at the time of publishing. Playable at that number.
