Warriors vs Pacers Pickswise Expert Predictions

Point Spread Pick
GS Warriors -10.5(-110)

Last year’s reigning NBA Eastern Conference champions have struggled to start this season with their star player, Tyrese Haliburton, sidelined with injury. Tonight, the Indiana Pacers will take on the Golden State Warriors, hoping to end their five-game losing streak. The Pacers will be playing in the second half of a back-to-back. They lost last night 128-108 against the Atlanta Hawks in an NBA Cup matchup. Pascal Siakam led the Pacers in scoring with 18 points, but as a team the Pacers only shot 35%. In the young NBA season, the Pacers rank last in field goal percentage at 39.4%. The Warriors are 4-2 in their first six games of the season but have only won one out of three road games. They lost their last game 120-110 against the Bucks. Steph Curry led the Warriors in scoring with 27 points, but the Warriors could not get it done, despite the Bucks playing without Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Injuries continue to stack up for the Indiana Pacers. Haliburton was the only concern this offseason, but already in the first couple of weeks Indiana has already lost Obi Toppen to foot surgery, Andrew Nembhard with a shoulder injury, Benedict Mathurin with a toe injury, and T.J. McConnell with a hamstring injury. That leaves Pascal Siakam and Aaron Nesmith as the two main remaining and recognizable players from last year’s Finals appearance suiting up this Saturday night. Last night’s game against the Hawks felt like the Pacers best chance to get their first win of the season. The Hawks weren’t playing their best basketball heading into last night’s game, and while the Pacers did keep this game competitive for three quarters, it still ended with a 20 point win for the Hawks. Now a healthy, solid Warriors team is coming in looking to bounce back from a loss. Considering the circumstances, I understand why this spread is currently set at double digits in favor of the Warriors. While a small sample size, double digit favorites this season are 6-4-1 against the spread. I can’t side with the Pacers tonight with their injuries and with how poorly they have shot the basketball. I like the Warriors plus the points to cover tonight.

Warriors -10.5 is available at the time of publishing. Playable at that number.
