HOU Rockets -6.0(-110)

Two teams currently sitting at a .500 record will meet Saturday night when the Houston Rockets travel to the east coast to take on the Boston Celtics. The Rockets started their season 0-2 as they adjusted with their new pieces, but they now have things clicking and have won their last two games. They won their last game against the Raptors 139-121. The Rockets led that game early and controlled the game throughout, covering a spread of 5.5 on the road. Kevin Durant led the Rockets in scoring with 31 points, while Jabari Smith Jr. helped contribute 25 points. The Celtics started their season 0-3, but they have won their last three games to get back to an even record. They won last night in Philadelphia 109-108 against the 76ers. With no Jayson Tatum, the Celtics jumped out to a 38-25 1st quarter lead, and they were able to hold on in the end behind 32 points from Jaylen Brown. With Tatum out for the season, a large spotlight will be on Brown this season to lead the Celtics.

Pieces have come and gone for the Boston Celtics this offseason, but the gameplan under head coach Joe Mazzulla has remained the same. Through the first couple weeks of the season, the Celtics remain in the same spot they were last season, first in three-point attempts. In six games, the Celtics have already attempted 287 three pointers. A cause for concern is that the Celtics three-point shooting percentage has dropped 4% from the rate they shot it last season. The Celtics shot by far the most threes of any team last season, but they managed to rank 10th in the NBA in percentage at 36%. This season, the Celtics rank 25th in three-point percentage at 32%. This is not a good spot for the Celtics offense to improve, traveling home and playing in the second half of a back-to-back. Tired legs normally result in poor shooting from deep, and without a good perimeter offense, the Celtics may not be able to keep up with a Rockets offense that has averaged 127.8 points per game in their first four games.

Rockets -6 is available at the time of publishing. Playable at that number.
