Reasoning

Just when we thought things couldn’t get any worse for the Clippers, they find a way to negatively surprise us. Earlier today they announced the waiving of legendary point guard Chris Paul, in what was a very puzzling move by the front office. CP3 isn’t enjoying the best of seasons on his farewell tour from the NBA, but I’m not exactly sure what the Clippers accomplish by getting rid of him. The atmosphere around the team is at an all-time low, it can only get worse with this move, veterans like Kawhi Leonard and James Harden will be asking themselves are they next in line to be moved?

Meanwhile, the Atlanta Hawks have been the complete opposite. They’re enjoying their best start to a season in years and they’re showing no signs of slowing down. Trae Young remains out, with Jalen Johnson putting together a strong season one has to wonder if Trae will be a Hawk after the trade deadline. Sharing the ball has been the main reason why the Hawks have flourished early in the season – they lead the league averaging 30.9 assists per game, that’s 7.1 dimes per game more than their opponent on Wednesday. Another area in which the Hawks excel is their ability to get steals. They rank 5th in the NBA, averaging 9.6 thefts per game.

Nowadays the NBA is a young’s man game. The Clippers are the oldest roster in the league with an average age of 30, while the Hawks are the 5th youngest averaging 24.9 years of age. Earlier in November these two teams met in LA, with the Hawks coming out on top 105-102. I have to side with them on Wednesday as well, they’re 6-1 SU in 7 games vs opponents from the Western Conference and have won 5 in a row vs Pacific Division teams. Back Atlanta on Wednesday.
