Grizzlies vs Kings Pickswise Expert Predictions

Point Spread Pick
SAC Kings -1.0(-110)

After the trade that sent Jaren Jackson Jr. to the Utah Jazz, the Memphis Grizzlies go into their game against the Sacramento Kings incredibly shorthanded. All the players that they acquired in return for the forward are unavailable as are usual starters like Ja Morant and Zach Edey. They will be taking on a Kings team that is relatively healthy in comparison with Keegan Murray being one of the notable absentees and Domantas Sabonis questionable to play. It does however leave their backcourt in tack, with Russell Westbrook, Zach LaVine and DeMar DeRozan all taking to the floor. Their experience should go a long way to help ensure they are able to pick up a win at home tonight.

Over the last 10 games the Grizzlies have given up the 11th fewest paint points in the league. However, without their former Defensive Player of the Year among their ranks, they would see a significant drop off in this category. During that stretch of games the Kings have already ranked above the Grizzlies in terms of true shooting percentage, and this should help widen the gap in efficiency between the sides further. The Kings will win the battle of the bench depth too as they can rely on experienced players like Malik Monk to come in and give them a scoring boost, a luxury the Grizzlies do not have here. As a result, the Kings should be in a position to cover the relatively small spread here.

Memphis Grizzlies vs Sacramento Kings prediction: Kings -1 (-110) available at time of publishing. Playable to Kings -2.

Like most Lithuanians, I started watching basketball from the age of six. I'm based out in London and played basketball at the University of Lincoln here in the UK. I had always had an interest in the NBA but things really took off in the summer of 2010. That year Linas Kleiza led Lithuania to 3rd place at the World Championships and signed with the Toronto Raptors to replace the departing Chris Bosh. I've been a Raptors fan since that day and I've not missed a game since. I've been handicapping games for more than a decade, specializing in player props.
