MIN Timberwolves Win -3.5(-110)

After a second straight season that ended in the Western Conference finals, the Minnesota Timberwolves will start their season on the west coast taking on the Portland Trail Blazers. The Trail Blazers finished last season with a record of 36-46. Portland was a victim of a poor start last year, starting the year losing 20 of their first 30 games played. They finished the rest of their season winning 50% of their games from that point. Jrue Holiday will be a new face in Portland this season. It looks like Damian Lillard will miss the full 2025-26 season, and Scoot Henderson will miss the beginning of the season, so the addition of Holiday will fill a big hole in the Trail Blazers back court. The Timberwolves starting lineup will look identical to the start of last season. Minnesota was able to re-sign Naz Reid this offseason and they look forward to the continued growth of Terrence Shannon Jr., Rob Dillingham, and Jaylen Clark.

The Timberwolves had a great season again last year, but an area they struggled in was their bench scoring. Minnesota was a bit top-heavy, ranking 19th in the league with 35 points per game from their bench. I have the Timberwolves heavily improving that number this season. With players mentioned before in Shannon Jr., Dillingham, and Clark all entering their second seasons, these players should be able to gain minutes and become more implemented in the offense. Another player fans should have their eye on this season is Donte DiVincenzo. DiVinvenzo was traded from New York to Minnesota last offseason in a move that visibly upset DiVincenzo. Due to the move, DiVincenzo’s numbers dropped across the board. But with an older Mike Conley possibly entering his final season in the NBA, the door is open for DiVincenzo to become a better utilized star off the bench for Minnesota. I think the Timberwolves will show their depth in game one against Portland who will be without some key contributors to start the season.

Timberwolves -3.5 is available at the time of publishing. Playable at that number.
