Timberwolves vs Jazz Pickswise Expert Predictions

Point Spread Pick
MIN Timberwolves -7.5(-110)

The Minnesota Timberwolves and the Utah Jazz will play their second game in four nights. The Timberwolves won the first game in Minnesota 137-97. The Timberwolves dominated behind 37 points from Anthony Edwards and 56% shooting from the field. The game was over early after Minnesota jumped out to a 43-15 lead after the first quarter. The Jazz will look to get off to a better start on their home court tonight. They have not played since the loss to Minnesota, but the Timberwolves did play a game in Sacramento yesterday against the Kings. The Timberwolves won that game 144-117, again shooting above 50% from the floor.  We will see tonight if the Wolves can continue this offensive explosion, or if playing three games in four nights will have them coming out flat.

Tonight’s game will be only the Jazz’s fourth home game. They have a record so far of 2-1 at the Delta Center. Utah’s roster is built this season to beat their opponent with their size and length. The Jazz will use 7’1” Lauri Markannen to stretch the floor at either power forward or sometimes even small forward, and this can present a lot of problems for other NBA teams. What’s not good for the Jazz is the Timberwolves’ roster is built to match up well against bigger teams. With players such as Rudy Gobert, Naz Reid, Julius Randle, and Jaden McDaniels, the Jazz will not have the size advantage tonight. Anthony Edwards has been inconsistent to start games this season. There have been several games where Edwards has gone into halftime with limited shot attempts and single digit scoring. But good news for those backing the Timberwolves is that Edwards loves to play against the Jazz. He has scored at least 30 points in his last eight games against the Jazz. He has averaged a total of 35.3 points per game in that stretch. The Wolves’ offense has scored more than 137 points in both of their last two games, and I am not going to bet against their offense tonight.

Timberwolves vs Jazz prediction: Minnesota -7.5 (-110) available at time of publishing. Playable at that number.
