Pelicans vs Magic Pickswise Expert Predictions

Point Spread Pick
ORL Magic -6.5(-110)

The New Orleans Pelicans are coming into this game after a dominant win over the Washington Wizards, but their recent form suggests they will not be able to recreate this today on the road against the Orlando Magic. The visitors have picked up just 1 win over their last 10 games with just 1 of those losses being by a margin of fewer than 7 points. The Pelicans go into the game without Saddiq Bey and Herbert Jones, with the latter being a major miss defensively. The Magic will remain without key starters in Jalen Suggs and Franz Wagner however they should see the return of Mo Wagner, which should improve their depth at center.

Over the last 10 games the Pelicans have been one of the worst teams in the league, ranking 28th in net offensive and defensive rating. Efficiency has been a major issue, with the team also ranking 29th in true shooting percentage over that stretch. They have relied heavily on scoring in the paint considering that they are just 25th in 3-point percentage during that time. The Magic should be well positioned to limit that part of their game. They have plenty of size down low with Wendell Carter Jr. and the likes of Jonothan Isaac and Goga Bitadze providing great rim protection off the bench. The return of Wagner should help matters further. Look for the hosts to contain the Pelicans and pick up a comfortable win here.

New Orleans Pelicans vs Orlando Magic prediction: Magic -6.5 available at time of publishing. Playable to Magic -8.

Like most Lithuanians, I started watching basketball from the age of six. I'm based out in London and played basketball at the University of Lincoln here in the UK. I had always had an interest in the NBA but things really took off in the summer of 2010. That year Linas Kleiza led Lithuania to 3rd place at the World Championships and signed with the Toronto Raptors to replace the departing Chris Bosh. I've been a Raptors fan since that day and I've not missed a game since. I've been handicapping games for more than a decade, specializing in player props.
