Harrison Barnes and Victor Wembanyama led the team in scoring with a combined 46 points. The Spurs came into this game with an aggressive defensive mindset, forcing 24 turnovers. They are currently seventh in the NBA in steals with an average of 9.6 per game. The New Orleans Pelicans are 2-6 this season, but they have won their last two games. The Pelicans defeated the Dallas Mavericks 101-99 on Wednesday behind 22 points and 9 rebounds from Saddiq Bey. The Pelicans were the more physical team, outrebounding the Mavericks by 12 despite Zion Williamson sitting out due to an injury. Williamson will also miss tonight’s game with a strained hamstring.

Without a true center and a rookie point guard, the Spurs should be able to create mismatches and tough shots for the Pelicans all night. With the Spurs potentially having tired legs playing off a back-to-back, I like for this game to stay under the total.
