Trail Blazers vs Grizzlies Pickswise Expert Predictions

Point Spread Pick
MEM Grizzlies -1.0(-110)

The Memphis Grizzlies will host the Portland Trail Blazers Sunday night in a Western Conference matchup. The Trail Blazers are 9-14 this season, but are coming into this game cold, losing four of their last five games. Their last loss came on Friday against the Detroit Pistons 122-116. Deni Avdija was the team’s leading scorer with 35 points. Avdija has led the Trail Blazers in scoring in their last five games, averaging 31 points per game over that span. The Grizzlies are 10-13 this season, and they have a record of 5-6 on their home floor. Memphis has won six of their last eight games, with their last win coming on Friday against the Los Angeles Clippers 107-98. The team’s leading scorer was Cedric Coward with 23 points, and the Grizzlies shot 54% without Ja Morant in the lineup. Ja Morant is listed as doubtful tonight again.

The Grizzlies have several injuries leaving them limited in options at point guard. The player that has helped them succeed during this stretch has been former UConn guard Cam Spencer. Spencer has averaged 15.7 points per game in his last seven games, and he has made a remarkable 21 of 34 shots from three point range during that period. With Morant, Ty Jerome, and Scotty Pippen Jr. all likely to be out again tonight, the team will need a similar performance from Spence. Also stepping up in recent games has been Zach Edey. Edey has averaged 13.8 points and 11.8 rebounds per game in the 10 games he has played this season. Edey is paired with Jaren Jackson Jr. to make an elite front court. The Grizzlies have found recent success, while the Trail Blazers continue to struggle following the release of former head coach Chauncey Billups. I’ll take the Grizzlies on their home floor tonight.

Trail Blazers vs Grizzlies prediction: Grizzlies -1.5 is available at the time of publishing. Playable at that number.
