The Detroit Pistons have locked in defensively of late. Over the last 10 games they have been by far the leaders in the NBA in defensive rating. It has meant that in 7 of their last 8 games they have held teams to below 105 points, with 4 teams not reaching the 100-point mark against them. They will now be taking on a Sacramento Kings team that could be without one of their key offensive players, with Zach LaVine listed as questionable due to lower back soreness. He has been making 43.3% of his 3-point attempts this month and without him they could struggle against a team that is holding opponents to the 5th fewest 3-point makes per game over the last 10 games.

One of the things the Pistons have been doing best is limiting scoring in the paint, allowing the second fewest points in that category over the last 10. If LaVine does not start, the Kings could lack floor spacers which would allow the hosts to pack the paint and continue to dominate inside. This season the Pistons are 3rd in rebounding percentage so should be well positioned to limit their opponents to one possession. The visitors are not a team that will look to up the tempo either, ranking 18th in pace during that same stretch of games. It is hard to see their offense doing enough to do their part to clear the over.

Like most Lithuanians, I started watching basketball from the age of six. I'm based out in London and played basketball at the University of Lincoln here in the UK. I had always had an interest in the NBA but things really took off in the summer of 2010. That year Linas Kleiza led Lithuania to 3rd place at the World Championships and signed with the Toronto Raptors to replace the departing Chris Bosh. I've been a Raptors fan since that day and I've not missed a game since. I've been handicapping games for more than a decade, specializing in player props.
