After winning their opening game of the season, the Toronto Raptors have lost 4 straight. They will look to end that streak Friday when they travel to Cleveland to take on the Cavaliers. The Raptors last defeat was 139-121 on their home court at the hands of the Houston Rockets. Scottie Barnes scored 31 points and Brandon Ingram added 29, but it was not enough to take down Kevin Durant and company. The Cavaliers are also coming off a loss, as they dropped a game 125-105 on the road against the Boston Celtics. The Cavaliers only shot 40% from the field in the loss, and no players scored over 20 points. Last year’s number 1 seed in the Eastern Conference has played below its standard offensively to start this season with players such as Darius Garland and Max Strus out with injuries. 

The Cavaliers have a handful of injury concerns to start the season. On top of Garland and Strus, both Donovan Mitchell and Jarrett Allen are questionable for Friday’s game. Mitchell played through hamstring soreness on Wednesday, and Allen suffered a finger injury on his non shooting hand. The injury status of Allen will be key for how to play this game. With Jakob Poetl out with an injury again this Friday, the Raptors are left without a true center on their roster. Their biggest forwards include 6’ 9” Sandro Mamukelashvili and 6′ 7” Collin Murray-Boyles. This played a major factor against the Rockets. The Raptors lost the rebounding battle 53 to 22. It was nearly 50/50 who got the rebound when the Rockets were on offense. The Raptors finished the game with only 18 defensive rebounds while the Rockets had 17 offensive rebounds. The Cavaliers have one of the most talented front courts in the NBA with Allen and Evan Mobley, and they should be able to replicate a dominant game on the glass.
