At first glance, this number looks quite soft considering the contrasting forms of both teams and their overall records against the spread. Here are the numbers – The Raps are 26-19 SU and 23-22 ATS. The Kings? An absolute liability – 12-32 overall and a menial 18-25-1 against the number. Thus, the number appears soft here as mentioned but when we factor in the records, the Kings are likely taking back an inflated number because their overall market perception is low and the only way they would get a look is if they were posted at an affable price. Translation – the Kings under normal circumstances would likely be sitting inside a three-pointer here as an underdog. This means that they are live.

What’s intriguing most of all is that there are a plethora of reasons to fade Sacramento, they are 9-15 SU at home, and Toronto plays winning basketball on the road. The Kings have lost two straight while the Raptors just put up over 140 against Golden State and whacked them on their own floor. So now, we have a team prone to an overreaction who looks formidable laying a short number to a side that has no relevancy, at all. We can break down the X’s and O’s but it’s not necessary. When a team looks too easy like the Raptors do here, it’s a stark warning that things are not as they appear. Sacramento has shown it can level up at moments this season. Look no further than when the Kings handled the Knicks and Lakers at home, just over a week ago. That iteration of Sacramento is taking the court tonight and the oddsmakers are tipping their hand.
