The Washington Wizards have been leaking points all over the place of late. They go into today’s visit to the New York Knicks having allowed the opposing team to score at least 125 points in 4 straight games. The Knicks have been able to reach that mark in 3 of the last 4 meetings between the sides, too, managing 122 points in the other contest. With the visitors ranking 28th so far this season in defensive rating, do not be surprised to see a similar outcome on Monday. The Knicks are 11th in offensive rating, themselves, and should capitalize on the Wizards’ weakness.

The Wizards have, however, done a great job of getting up and down the floor this season. They are second in the league in pace. That has translated to scoring opportunities for them, with the visitors ranking fifth in the league in fast-break points per game. The hosts have had issues getting back in transition, being in the bottom 10 of the league in opponent fast-break points per game. It’s something I expect the Wizards to look to exploit and use to help them do their part for the over. Both teams are also in the top half of the league in 3-point percentage. Maintaining that efficiency from beyond the arc should help the points rack up. I’m backing the over with confidence as a result.

Like most Lithuanians, I started watching basketball from the age of six. I'm based out in London and played basketball at the University of Lincoln here in the UK. I had always had an interest in the NBA but things really took off in the summer of 2010. That year Linas Kleiza led Lithuania to 3rd place at the World Championships and signed with the Toronto Raptors to replace the departing Chris Bosh. I've been a Raptors fan since that day and I've not missed a game since. I've been handicapping games for more than a decade, specializing in player props.
