Diane Knox Balas loves golf (she’s Scottish, so of course she does) but let’s just say she’s much better at analyzing golf than playing! The same cannot be said for her brother, Russell Knox, who’s a 2-time winner on the PGA Tour and fueled Diane’s initial passion for the sport. A seasoned TV and radio host, Diane has given out 8 outright winners since joining the Pickswise team in April 2022. Her general rule is she has to have three stand-out reasons for each pick and spends her time studying stats, playing form and little nuggets of information from golfers’ lives on Tour. Diane lives in Jacksonville, Florida with her husband Garrett, son Greyson and two English Bulldogs Bowser & Barkley. You can follow her antics on Twitter @KnoxyDiane and Instagram @dianeknoxbalas. The golf season’s final major — glory’s last shot, so to speak — is taking place this week, as the British Open is held at Royal Liverpool. Whereas the PGA Championship used to be the final big one annually, now it’s the Open that wraps things up in style.

Who will join Jon Rahm, Brooks Kopeka and Wyndham Clark as major champions in 2023? That is the big question, but for now we are focusing on more specific prop bets. That being said, also be sure to check out my preview and best outright bets for the British Open!

You can bet on all today’s sports at FanDuel, America’s #1 sportsbook, which has a great new customer offer where you can get 10x your first bet — win or lose — up to $200. So bet $20, win $200! Click here to take advantage of this awesome offer.

Knox’s Knockout British Open Prop Bets

Robert MacIntyre top European (+2200 at Bet365)

As long as his energy levels aren’t zapped after last week, I’m holding out hope for Bobby Mac to keep it going this week and prevail. I’ll take him as an outright at 80/1 and top Euro at 22/1. He has the momentum, hunger and power to scale back off the tee and play longer iron shots into these greens.

David Lingmerth top Swede (+330) FanDuel

I was so impressed with David Lingmerth last week in Scotland that I knew I wanted to pick him for something this week. He finished T3 (double-bogeys from Tommy Fleetwood and Tyrrell Hatton on their closing hole massively boosted him!) and he qualified for the Open. He’s a very short, accurate hitter and his putter was on fire last week — gaining 2.5 strokes on the field.

Collin Morikawa top-10 finish (+310) FanDuel

Morikawa won the British Open in 2021 but followed that up with a missed cut last year at St. Andrews. However, his accuracy off the tee will be very advantageous at Royal Liverpool, plus he is such an elite iron player — sitting 4th on the PGA Tour in approaches from 175 to 200 yards. I’ll add him at this price for a top 10.
