Not much has gone right for Jacksonville’s offense over the first couple of games this season, but I expect that to change in this desperation spot. Given that quarterback Trevor Lawrence has been struggling with consistently throwing the ball accurately and effectively down the field, I’m targeting Travis Etienne Jr. and the Jaguars’ ground game to be featured heavily in this matchup, particularly in the first half. As we saw against the Cardinals in Week 1, you can run on this Buffalo defense (18th in rushing yards allowed), and Etienne typically sees his workload increase on the road. The Jags starting running back already has a pair of touchdowns on the ground this season, and I expect Etienne to get plenty of work throughout the contest, so let’s take this number while it’s still at plus money.

While I see the Jaguars having consistent success on the ground, the same can be said for the Bills on the other side of the ball. At this point, the discourse around Buffalo has largely centered around the Bills’ new offensive approach under coordinator Joe Brady, who turned the season around for Buffalo midway through the 2023 campaign. The results have been strong through the first 2 weeks of this season, particularly when it comes to the production the Bills are getting from James Cook. After losing Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis this past offseason, the load on Cook’s shoulder in this offense got much heavier, and he’s responded to the challenge by averaging 5 yards per carry with 3 touchdowns on 30 attempts in Buffalo’s pair of wins this month. Cook looks poised to become one of the best running backs in football and his skills as a receiver out of the backfield also make him doubly a threat to find the end zone. At plus money, this price is too good to pass up for Buffalo’s offensive focal point on Monday.
