Pickswise was nice enough to give me the opportunity to write up my plays for you all. For those of you who don’t know me, they refer to me as JutPicks on Twitter. I post all my plays with brief write-ups every day. Now I get to write even more with no character limit!

I pride myself on being as transparent as they come. My MLB record from last season and this season is listed in my bio. On the year, I’ve recorded 204 wins and 148 losses for a gain of +35.51 units. Without further ado, let’s dive into my favorite play for Saturday.

Cal Quantrill (Guardians) over 17.5 outs (-140)

Line available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing.

Cal Quantrill has been a workhorse for the Cleveland Guardians this season. He’s averaging 17.5 outs per start and has surpassed this line in 19 of 29 starts. Quantrill faced off against the Texas Rangers in June, pitching 7 innings in a 6-3 win.

The Rangers rank in the bottom 10 in batting average, on-base percentage, and last in wRC in September against right-handed pitching.

The Guardians have won every start of Quantrill’s since August except for one in which he pitched only 3 innings. I expect another gem from Quantrill and for him to coast against the Rangers, who see the 6th fewest pitches per at-bat.
