Kevin Gausman has picked up the slack of teammate Alex Manoah to start the 2023 season. Manoah finally pitched well last night while Gausman has been elite. He has a 3.237 ERA and is tied for second in strikeouts behind Spencer Strider. Speaking of Strider, the Baltimore Orioles who will be Gausman’s opponent today, were fanned 10 times by Strider earlier this month.
The Orioles are striking out at a top 10 against right-handed pitching this month, which includes masterclass performances by Strider and Mitch Keller. Gausman has shown he can reach 10+K’s consistently this season. He has struck out at least 10 batters in all 3 home starts. Expect the same today for the Blue Jays’ true ace.

The Red Sox own the best K rate against right-handed pitching this season while the Atlanta Braves, Kirby’s opponent, rank 20th.
