A rare 4:05 pm ET Monday game that features ace Shane McClanahan battling against the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park kicks off the slate. But we’ll turn on attention to southpaw Joey Wentz facing off against the Philadelphia Phillies and veteran Adam Wainwright against the Texas Rangers. Wentz and Wainwright headline our top MLB player prop bets, but you can check out our MLB picks for today’s matchups.

You can bet on today’s MLB action over at DraftKings Sportsbook, which has a great sign-up offer where you can bet $5 and get $200 in bonus bets instantly! Click here to take advantage and claim your bonus bets right now.

Joey Wentz (Tigers) over 2.5 earned runs (-130)

Line available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing.

The word “lucky” is a great way to describe Joey Wentz’s last start. A ton of hard-hit contact that resulted in outs by the Texas Rangers had Wentz escape by allowing only one run. Marcus Semien led off the game with a 101 exit velocity flyout that went 417 feet. The Phillies aren’t as stout as the Rangers’ offense, but they have all makings to be with their loaded offense.

Trea Turner and Nick Castellanos will be our focal points for tonight as Wentz struggles against right-handers. He’s allowing righties to hit for a .327 average and ranks in the bottom 9th percentile in xBA%. Though Turner has struggled out the gate, he is as talented a hitter as the league has. Castellanos on the other hand is smashing lefties at a .313 average and gets to face his former team. The bottom of the lineup will most likely feature multiple righties that can get runners on for the top of the order and in particular Bryson Stott and his .328 average against lefties.

The Phillies were able to get to MacKenzie Gore on Saturday for three runs on nine hits. That made it the third straight southpaw starter to issue at least three runs to the Phillies. Wentz, himself, is over this line in seven of 11 starts this season and his 7.28 ERA will be on full display against a talented offense.

Adam Wainwright (Cardinals) under 17.5 outs (-140)

Line available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing.

The Texas Rangers is the offense MLB bettors should be targeting every single night. Now, they get to face off against veteran Adam Wainwright and his 6.46 xERA that ranks in the bottom 5 percentile in all of baseball.

The Rangers crushed the last two righties they saw against the Seattle Mariners. They ran through young prospects Bryce Miller and Bryan Woo for 15 hits and 13 runs in a combined 4.1 innings. Much of the same is set to be on display with the Rangers’ league-leading .283 batting average against RHP since May.

The Cardinals have a relatively fresh bullpen by using only five arms in the last two days. They got the opportunity to play early on Sunday morning against the Pittsburgh Pirates in a game they lost 2-1.

Wainwright has stayed under this line in all five starts this season including only going five innings against the Kansas City Royals where he allowed a season-high nine hits.

Marcus Semien (Rangers) over 0.5 runs (-120)

Line available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing.

There’s no better way to fade Adam Wainwright than backing the leadoff hitter. Marcus Semien headlines arguably the best offense in baseball with his power and speed and being an MLB player prop bettor’s dream to back.  He has found himself on base via a hit in 83% of games this season and has swiped seven bags.

It’s the batters behind him that we have to rely on if we want to cash in on this prop. Corey Seager is always a threat to go yard and Nathaniel Lowe is hitting .324 against RHP in the last month.

Semien has crossed home plate in 38 of 58 games this season including three straight. He’ll look to send one of Wainwright’s patented sinkers out of Globe Life Field and kick off the party in Texas.

You can bet on this Semien player prop with FanDuel, America’s #1 sportsbook, which has a great sign-up offer where you can get a No Sweat First Bet up to $2,500! Click here to take advantage of this offer and gain access to tons of odds boosts on site.
