I've been a capper since my love for sports met my proficiency with numbers and math. The NFL and NCAAF have always been my first loves, followed by the NHL. Although I prefer sports that involve hitting people, I still love capping MLB, soccer, tennis, and even some esports. Living in Florida has its perks like year-round sports of any kind. The conference finals in both the NHL and NBA have been quite interesting this season. All 4 have experienced a team with a 3-0 lead and the ability to sweep their opponent. That’s the case tonight with the Dallas Stars on the brink of elimination against the Vegas Golden Knights. They’ll get to be on home ice again for Game 4 with their series on the line. Despite being significant favorites in Game 3 but taking the loss, there can be plenty of hesitation in picking a winner. Therefore, we have our top NHL player prop for tonight’s pivotal Golden Knights vs Stars Game 4.

Along with our NHL player prop, be sure to check out all of our NHL picks for the Stanley Cup Playoff action.

Roope Hintz over 0.5 goals (+175)

If you were only able to see the final score of Game 3, you’d have assumed that the Stars simply didn’t stand a chance in their 4-0 loss. However, that was far from the case. Captain Jamie Benn was ejected just over a minute into the game, and Vegas capitalized on their 5-minute power play. They used that shift in momentum for a 3-goal 1st period and never looked back. Even still, per MoneyPuck’s expected goals, Dallas wins Game 3 over 80% of the time. If they’re going to prove that and bring it to reality, Hintz is going to need to continue his epic Stanley Cup Playoff run.

Despite not recording a point in Game 3, his 22 points are still the most of any skater this postseason. With that is 10 goals, which makes him 1 of just 2 skaters with double-digit goals in these Stanley Cup Playoffs. He’ll have Benn back on the ice to assist him, along with veteran Joe Pavelski and youngster Jason Robertson. Perhaps more importantly, it’s very difficult to imagine Vegas goaltender Adin Hill pulling off another shutout. He was the Knights’ third option in goal this season and is only there due to injuries. With their season on the line, the Stars will need Hintz to continue shining bright like he has been throughout the postseason.
