Best player prop bets for Monday's NHL playoff game: Point can extend goal streak

We have only a one-game slate for Monday’s NHL playoff action, so we will be looking to find one player for each team who represents some value. Right now, we’re going to be focusing on NHL player props, bringing you a few of our favorite props. Before you bet these, make sure you also check out our picks on the side and total for the game.

Brayden Point anytime goalscorer (+135)

With the series tied at 2-2, the Tampa Bay Lightning will need all the offense they can get for Game 5, they’ll be relying heavily on their top line. Brayden Point has been one of the hottest players in this postseason and he’s been electric for nearly the last three weeks. He’s scored in his last seven games dating all the way back to June 3.

Seven games in a row with a goal is the longest active streak in the league right now and Point leads all players this postseason with 12 goals in 17 games.

His line-mate Nikita Kucherov currently has 24 points in 17 games, 19 of which are assists. He’s been teeing up Point with chances in front of the net nearly every night. The two of them are leading the league in points during the playoffs. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it; we like Point to extend his goal streak to eight games tonight.

Mathew Barzal over 2.5 shots on goal (+110)

Mathew Barzal is the most dynamic player on the New York Islanders and they’ll be looking to him to create as much offense as possible in a pivotal Game 5. After Barzal had just one shot on goal in Game 4, oddsmakers might be undervaluing his ability to generate chances.

During this postseason, he is averaging 2.56 shots per game and has had three or more shots in five of his last eight games. He also has three goals in four games against the Lightning this series and will be looking to add to his goal total, which will mean more shots on goal.

His time on the ice was sheltered in Game 4, which helps explain his lone shot on goal, however, now that the series has been tied expect head coach Barry Trotz to play his best skaters for a significant portion of this game. After a one-goal and one-shot performance last game, Barzal should be looking to take plenty of more chances tonight.
