Best player prop for Friday's MLB slate: Akin whiffs Red Sox

Keegan Akin MLB player prop

Friday nights were made for gamblers and if I could offer a tip to all my fellow gamblers out there it would be this. Find a fantastic MLB player prop early on Friday morning. Like the best one you’ve ever seen ever. Obviously lock it in. Now you get to walk around with gold in your pocket for the rest of the day. It’s already going to be an awesome day because it’s Friday, but now you’ve found a way to turn it up a notch. It’s genius and it works every time. If you need a spare fantastic MLB player prop, just take this one.

Besides this article, you should definitely check out our experts’ picks on all of the MLB action today. It’s just a smart thing to do. Also, bets can be added to the card, so why not follow me on Twitter in case we get some last-second action? Once lineups are announced for some of these games, there is a chance for opportunity to knock. You should be there to answer it.

Keegan Akin over 3.5 strikeouts (-110)

Line available at DraftKings at time of publishing.

DraftKings is the only show in town (of the big 3) with this MLB player prop. FanDuel doesn’t even have a line for this game yet and BetMGM seems to just be getting things sorted with it. They’re probably waiting on Chris Sale news so we can let them slide there. Still, DraftKings has a good number at a fair price so I’m in.

Let me tell you a little bit about Keegan Akin. He hasn’t dipped under 85 pitches in 5 straight starts. In that time he’s lowered his ERA from 8.13 to 6.83. Basically from horrific to borderline horrific. In those 5 starts he’s fanned at least 4 guys in 3 of them and the 2 times he failed, he still got 3 so he was right there. The 2 failures were also against the Braves and Blue Jays so we can kind of forgive him for those.

Tonight he’s getting the Boston Red Sox. Over the last week, no team in MLB that has played 6 or fewer games has struck out more than they have. We’re talking 76 times in 213 at bats. That’s almost 36% of the time! I don’t think Akin is going to give Boston much to worry about tonight, but he should definitely sit at least 4 of them down.

This is my favorite MLB player prop of the night.
