The Tampa Bay Lightning face the Minnesota Wild tonight. Tampa Bay’s offense seems to be in a favorable spot. Only 7 teams in the NHL are allowing more goals per game than Minnesota (3.18), and they have been giving up a lot of goals recently. In their last 3 games, the Wild have given up 11 goals. Now they are on the second half of a road back-to-back against a potent Tampa Bay offensive attack. Ondrej Palat has registered 10 points (4 goals, 6 assists) so far this season, but he is pointless in his last 2 games. That means he is due.

Palat is getting steady ice time on Tampa Bay’s top line, and he is playing with Brayden Point and Anthony Cirelli. Palat is also a part of Tampa’s top power play unit. Minnesota will be sending Kaapo Kahkonen between the pipes, and he is sporting a less than stellar .882 save percentage so far this season. Long story short, this is setting up to be a big offensive day for the Lightning. Look for Palat (and Tampa’s top line in general) to put the pressure on. Palat should be able to find the scoresheet tonight.
