Kirill Kaprizov over 2.5 shots (-130)

The Minnesota Wild play the Florida Panthers tonight, and Florida possesses one of the most potent offenses in all of hockey. If Minnesota is going to keep up, Kirill Kaprizov figures to be a key part of that equation. Kaprizov is coming off a game in which he tallied 4 points (1 goal, 3 assists), and he is averaging 3.19 shots per game this season. The young Russian is an elite skater who can make things happen in a hurry. He is averaging just under 20 minutes of ice time so far this season, and he is a part of Minnesota’s top power play unit. The Wild scored 7 goals in their last game, and they may need another high total in this one as they go up against one of the premier offenses in the league. Look for Kaprizov to put the pressure on and register at least 3 shots on goal in tonight’s contest.

Nick Suzuki over 2.5 shots (+125)

Odds available at DraftKings at time of publishing

The Montreal Canadiens are having a tough go of it so far this season. The Habs enter tonight’s matchup against the Nashville Predators with a measly 4-13-2 record. That being said, Nick Suzuki has been a bright spot for the struggling Canadiens. Suzuki leads the team with 14 points (4 goals, 10 assists), and he is averaging just under 2.5 shots per game. Surprisingly enough he has not registered a shot on goal over his last 2 contests, but it seems unlikely that moves to 3 straight games. Suzuki is far too talented to not be generating pressure, and Montreal’s offense tends to go as he goes. Suzuki tallied 9 points in a 5-game stretch earlier this season, so he is capable of catching fire. He put at least 3 shots on goal in all 5 of those games. Nashville is a sound defensive team, but it is allowing more than 30 shots per game and Suzuki is getting plenty of ice time on Montreal’s top line. Look for Suzuki to have an aggressive mindset with the puck tonight, and take the over on his shots total.
