It is an action-packed Sunday full of betting options everywhere. Why not throw some MLB player props into the mix? I have 2 props in mind for today that I will share here. On top if this article, you should also check out all of our MLB picks and previews for each game today. Additionally, you can follow me on Twitter for any added plays.

Here we go!

Josh Rogers over 3.5 strikeouts (-106)

Josh Rogers may not be a household name, but we are all fans of his today. Rogers has only made 4 starts with the Nationals this season, and today he will be making his fifth. I am a bit surprised his strikeout total is this low. Rogers has reached at least 4 strikeouts in 3 of those 4 outings, and today he faces a Cincinnati Reds lineup that has struggled against left-handers. The Cincinnati offense as a whole has been wildly inconsistent over the last few weeks, and it’s hard to trust them at this moment in time. Rogers is averaging 6.1 innings so far this season, so he is capable of pitching relatively deep into the game. On top of that, he tossed 103 pitches in his last outing. Washington seems to be trusting him more and more with each start, and I like his chances at grabbing at least 4 Ks this afternoon.

Carlos Carrasco under 5.5 strikeouts (-128)

Line available at FanDuel at time of publishing

Carlos Carrasco has settled in nicely to the New York rotation, but he is not known as a strikeout guy. He posted a respectable strikeout rate of 29.3 through 68.0 innings in 2020, but that rate has dropped down to 22.0 through 44.2 innings so far this season. He has reached 6 strikeouts in just 1 of his 10 starts with the Mets this season, and he could have a tough challenge going up against the Brewers this afternoon. They have not been striking out a ton as of late. Milwaukee struck out just 7 times in Friday’s series opener and they struck out 8 times in last night’s game. Additionally, the Brewers have the 4th-fewest amount of strikeouts in all of baseball over the last 15 days.  I like Carrasco to stay under this total.
